Alexia Panagiotopoulou is a Greek visual artist and fine-art photographer based in Brussels, Belgium. Having lived in Greece, the United Kingdom and Belgium, she brings a broad cultural perspective to her work.

With an early background in drawing and painting, her artistic practice has gradually evolved towards photography, while retaining a strong painterly sensibility and an interest in the space between representation and abstraction.

Her work explores movement, light, time and perception. She works mainly with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), long exposure and experimental photography, bringing a painterly quality to the photographic image.

Her ongoing project Flows is inspired by Heraclitus’ idea that “everything flows.” Landscapes, water, natural elements and sometimes human presence offer a way of exploring change and movement. Rather than documenting a scene exactly as it appears, she is interested in what happens when movement and light transform it, and in the different ways we experience a place or a moment.

Her work has been presented in Belgium and internationally and is held in private collections. In 2026, her photograph Threshold received an Official Selection in Fine Art – Landscape at the International Photography Awards (IPA), USA. The same work was also selected for publication in the 101 Art Book: Nature Edition by the Arts to Hearts Project (USA).

In Belgium, she was selected for Portraits d’Auderghem, the photography competition organised by the Municipality of Auderghem, with the selected works exhibited at the Centre d’Art de Rouge-Cloître in Brussels. She was also selected to participate in DREAMLAND at the MEAM – Museu Europeu d’Art Modern in Barcelona, presented by RFA Projects, in December 2026.

She is a member of Art Perspectives International (API), a group of international artists.

Alongside her artistic practice, Alexia has a professional career in information technology and project management. Art has remained a constant part of her life alongside this career, gradually taking on a more central role.
